Harvest at SHBC is not simply a normal run-of-the-mill service. For many of our folk ‘pumpkins rule ok’. This year there were 8 or 9 large pumpkins lovingly grown over the summer by our keen gardeners. Put this together with lots of fresh vegetables and tinned food which help our crossroads teams feed the homeless, a lot of fun during the service, and you begin to get the picture.
We sang traditional songs ( not usual for SHBC), led by the Match Club. The pastor preached on 2 Corinthians Ch 9: ‘Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly’ and said, ‘If you don’t like what you reap, change what you sow’. This made many of us consider what we sow in our own lives.
Have a look at the pictures and you’ll get the idea. We know that next year is going to be even better!
